iPhone: Calls via Facebook Messenger App, Android and BlackBerry still waiting

Few hours ago, Facebook rolled out a new update to it’s much acclaimed Messenger for iPhone. This latest update grants US based owners to now use Facebook Messenger as a ‘Free’ calling service. Calls can be made via WiFi or a cellular data connection.facebook-phone

This new feature will be recieved favorably by heavy phone users as it will cut down phone costs. In order to place a call, all a user has to do is tap the ‘i’ button next to a contacts name as choose the ‘Free Call’ button.

Microsoft Buys Skype for $8.5b to create Windows Skype Messenger?

Microsoft has finally won the battle to buy Skype and that too with a whopping budget of 8.5 BILLION US DOLLARS! The fight between Facebook and Microsoft finally ended with Skype selling itself to sofware-gaints Microsoft! Skype now Brings 3G Calls to Android (Along with Security Fixes)

Skype on Android whose recent Security Flaws were exposed, have now updated their App and Closed up these Security flaws and along with this they’ve brought 3G Call Support! While security’s cool, 3G calling is much cooler. The Android Market listing for Skype reports that “calling over your 3G connection is available worldwide – now including the U.S.” You will need to have an Android 2.1, or Android 2.2 on a Samsung Galaxy S, to get the app running.
