iOS 6: All you NEED to know

iOS 6, the latest update to Apple’s mobile OS is finally a reality. iOS 6 not only promises performance but also loads of new features to ensure Apple continues to enjoy it’s market shares. iOS 6 was announced along with the mysterious “iPad Mini” and iPhone 5 during the WWDC 2012 event.

iOS 6 was released two days ago as an under-development beta edition, however the final complete OS will be made available “This Fall”

iOS 6: Facetime with 3G

Few months ago, when iOS 5 was released, people were shocked to know Facetime does not support 3G however, if this new update is finalized people will now be able to video call without WiFi. But, this feature may cause your increase your data usage ultimately leading high fee and charges from your mobile operator.

iOS 6: New Safari App

  1. – iCloud Syncing
  2. – Offline website reading
  3. – Photo sharing website integration, easier uploads
  4. – Smart App Banners – Websites will notify you about their iOS apps.

iOS 6: Better Siri

iOS 6 Siri will now be able to answer a lot more questions such as sports scores, statistics and trivia, booking restaurants and tell you what you should watch at the cinema. Furthermore, it will also be available in more countries and in more languages.

iOS 6: New App: Passbook

“Your boarding passes, movie tickets, retail coupons, loyalty cards, and more are now all in one place. With Passbook, you can scan your iPhone or iPod touch to check in for a flight, get into a movie, and redeem a coupon. You can also see when your coupons expire, where your concert seats are, and the balance left on that all-important coffee bar card. Wake your iPhone or iPod touch, and passes appear on your Lock screen at the appropriate time and place — like when you reach the airport or walk into the store to redeem your gift card or coupon. And if your gate changes after you’ve checked in for your flight, Passbook will even alert you to make sure you’re not relaxing in the wrong terminal.” (Apple.com)

iOS 6: Siri for iPad

Finally, iPad users now have no reason to be jealous of iPhone users because, Siri is now available for the New iPad.

iOS 6: New Maps App

The iOS 6 will feature a new mapping system powered by Apple, providing you with the latest updates on traffic information, controllable by voice(Siri) and 3D Flyover which allows you to hover over 3D cities, similar to Google Earths 3D buildings. Social Integration will also be a part of the new app. You will now be able to check in and let people know about your current location.

iOS 6: Facebook Integration

Just as Twitter was integrated into iOS 5, Apple is now going to integrate Facebook into iOS 6. This will now make your device even more socially-connected and help easier photo uploads, offline facebook albums access and much more.
